Planning & Design in Progress

Fairfield ISD is moving forward with the design of the new Fairfield High School, the centerpiece of Bond 2025. The district continues to work closely with Claycomb Associates to ensure every part of the new campus supports student success.

The Fairfield ISD Board of Trustees has also approved Pogue Construction as the Construction Manager At-Risk (CMAR) for the district’s Bond 2025 projects.

Collaborative Planning Sessions

Throughout the design process, Fairfield ISD staff and administrators have participated in ongoing planning sessions with Claycomb Associates. During these meetings, teachers, administrators, and program directors have collaborated directly with architects to discuss instructional needs, classroom flow, equipment placement, safety, and accessibility.

Early planning focused on gathering input from teachers across the high school’s various departments, including where different programs would be placed within the campus and how the overall layout and flow of the building could best support instruction and collaboration.

As design work has continued, meetings have become more program specific, with discussions centered on interior layouts, functionality, and how each space will support its intended purpose. Each phase of planning helps shape a learning environment designed around how our students learn, create, and grow.

Design Refinement & Schematic Layout

Jeffery Floyd, Director of Design and Principal with Claycomb Associates, has shared the schematic design of the new Fairfield High School with the Fairfield ISD Board of Trustees and will return with updated design information as the project continues to move forward.

Campus Improvements Across the District

While design work continues for the new high school, several campus updates have already been completed or are in progress as part of Bond 2025 planning.

This summer, Fairfield Junior High received refreshed interior updates, including newly painted common areas and replacement of ceiling tiles to brighten and modernize shared spaces. In addition, new athletic lockers were installed in the fall to support student athletes and athletic programs.

At Fairfield Elementary, administrators have met with Claycomb Associates to discuss plans for adding new awnings at the front of the building and on the east side of the campus for car rider pickup. In addition, a new security vestibule will be added to the campus entrance to enhance student safety. A team of engineers also visited the campus for a site review to evaluate existing conditions and support upcoming renovation work.

What’s Next

Site surveyors are finishing reports that will guide the next steps in the design process.

Sitework is projected to begin this summer, with construction expected to take about two years.

Our goal remains to open the new Fairfield High School in August 2028, just in time for the start of the school year.

Fairfield ISD is grateful for our community’s continued support and excitement as we take these important steps toward building for the future.
